I saw Avatar in 3D Imax and visually was stunning and totally worth seeing; so shouldn't it be up for best animated film?

And yes I hope Bigelow wins for The Hurt Locker, which I plan to rent this week - time for a woman win, and think is totally fun if she beats her ex-husband --- now that is an Oscar story!!!

Sadly I do not know of the director you speak but after seeing Avatar I hope it is snubbed, beautiful yes but the story numbed my mind. As marymac said Ferngully for sure...saw that 100 years ago with my kids.

Do you remember the bad animated movie called "Ferngully"? Avatar is the exact Ferngully (meets Pocahontas) plot. Odd. I am totally looking forward to the Superbowl- especially the pre-game red carpet show!
Agree on Best Director- plus: beating your ex-husband in the same category? priceless. She should be on the Wheaties box if she pulls that shit off.
