Go Hilary. I think that a recognition that we are talking human rights is what is needed. For many once you start talking about groups it's very easy for a 'them' and 'us' situation to arise. It's easy to dismiss or marginalize the rights of other human beings if we can view them as "the other", what ever that other may be. Here's hoping there'll come a time when we can view each other as equally deserving of compassion and respect. Will hop off my Pollyanna soap box now.

Good for Hillary! She would have had the same difficulties as Obama has had, if she was president. In that position there are way too many 'other' factors that we don't either appreciate or understand. Gay rights is but one very small consideration to the US government. It will come but not for a while yet.
So glad I live in Canada......I wouldn't have the patience.
