I've had a same experience. I moved from...Arg! I've had a same experience. I moved from CA to Washington DC, but as a native NYer my license was from that state...and expired. In DC, I tried to renew my license. The woman at the DMV told me I needed proof of my social security number to reapply for the driver's license. I didn't have a copy of my card -- it was in NY. So I was sent to the Social Security office, where I was told I could have a copy of my card if I'd simply show my picture ID....<br /><br />Thanks for stopping by my blog and following!
