After coming home very late Wednesday night, Thursday was my one day off this week, and I had plans. Not world-changing Angelina Jolie adopt-an-orphan-visit-war-zone plans, but plans...
The list in my head before day started:
1- take Alfie to camp
2- spend quality time with Quinn, who is home from camp this week as not feeling 100%
3- run or gym
4- supermarket
5- blog
6- vacuum
7- call B, a friend have not connected with all summer
8- scoop poop in the back yard (go ahead, envy my glamorous life)
9- return call from G, a friend have been playing telephone tag with10- call about our "missing" kitchen chairs
11- finish off the book I have been dragging around with me (Stephen King's On Writing)12- go through mail from past three days and pay bills
13- meet K at the new house after he finishes work, for walk-thru's with electrician and security people
14- unpack from trip this week, do laundry
15- cook dinner
Hey, that list is just too damn long, right? I totally absolutely agree. Here's what I actually did:
1- nap
2- start on guest room
3- play online
4- play with dogs
5- nap with dogs
6- vacuum high-traffic areas
7- leisurely turn up at new house 90 seconds early
Hmmmm, does that count as seven things off my list?

This sounds very familiar to days I have planned. I end up at Wal-Mart, reading blogs, maybe writing a blog and napping on couch instead of cleaning bathrooms, vacumning, de-cluttering, etc.
And yes, it totally counts.
I love lists. Probably unhealthily so. Am I alone?
Thanks, I clearly think I get at least part marks on this one.
And no you are not alone on loving lists, I love them waaay too much. How can that be wrong?
sounds active to me!
somehow, i think you've got your rpiority straight. good for you!!!
dogs over laundry anytime!!
and napping is best!!

I like your second list way more than your first....You did the right thing... Yo Sista [beats fist on chest]!
Sounds like the perfect list...anything involving a nap is perfect! (-:
Sounds like a productive day to me. =]
If you feel better, the second list was totally worth it.
I don't know why it took me so long to find you, but I do love your blog.
You gets done what you gets done!
I had days like that. You might need a mental health day. Take a day off to yourself and do nothing for yourself.

Accomplishments in life are far the most part highly overrated in my opinion. Besides, all your dog time did more for your mental health than finishing a pesky list.
I know exactly how you feel. I was stuck on number 1 of your second list.
Gotta admit, I often get stuck on napping, which truly is #1. And I like it there....
So, who gets to do the things you did not cross off your list?
I'd rather nap than clean dog poop. But alas, I do both. I should be vacuuming right now, but I'd rather be reading blogs and commenting.
Today was supposed to be my "alone" day. The plan was to relax, shop, read blogs, etc. What I did instead? Clean, clean and clean some more. To what end? They come home tomorrow and all my work will be undone in a matter of minutes.
