Halloween comes early for the furry one...

This week I was at the pet store stocking up on food and treats for the pooches, and guess what, they have their Halloween stuff out!

I skipped the ghosts (boring), the sharks (didn't like it), the pumpkins (been there, done that), and got the little dude a cowboy outfit.

Awww, isn't he the cutest? And yes I may have had to bribe the furball with treats to get him to sit with the hat on his head. Maybe.

And to my friend Joe -- no, Monsieur Sarcasmo, he does not look like a member of the canine Village People!

That is probably one of the cutest things I've ever seen. He doesn't even look like he minds being a cowboy!

"Poor Alfie"??? Aww, yeah, he suffers so much!

Alfie was actually really good with the outfit, especially as I fed him cheese to sit still for the pics. This is a dog who has cheese-gasms, so he was one happy little furball!

It looks like he's crying in the first one...

Of course he's not doing a Village Doggie thing! Anyone can see that! So tell me -- is he Jack or Ennis?

Ooh. Debra. Luuuv the Brokeback reference. Why the he'll didn't I think of that?

And judging by the last pic he is a total Ennis!

Very cute picture. What would you do for a cheesegasm?

Naughty George has cheesegasms too! Those pics of Alfred really made me laugh.... he is a proper member of the Village Pups ..... can he do a rendition of the YMPA?!

If I had a blog... said...

Brahm - Great post! I can't help notice the glare from Alfred in photo #3 that perhaps he is plotting revenge...just saying.

It would be hilarious to tell all on Haloween that he is Ennis from Broke back though...bloody funny :)

Love it!! This will be our Chuy's first Halloween with us and I can't wait to get him a costume. We've never dressed up Toby our golden retriever, but Mr. Chuy, who is a Yorkie/Shitzu mix?

Will have a costume. And a Christmas sweater.

hahaha! Canine Village People. That's awesome. He does look pretty damn adorable. I really like the mustache. Very cow...dog? Cowboy-dog? Dog-Cowboy? I don't know how that should go.

I have to wonder who started this trend of dressing up pets? not that it's a bad thing. i'm just wondering if it was my former boss. in 1990, i worked in a photo lab and i can't tell you how many pics of the owner's pup i printed where he was dressed as hugh hefner, an astronaut, a fireman, little red riding hood, and a cowboy. he was pretty darn cute. not as cute as Alfie though.
