From Abigail Van Buren, the original Dear Abby, in response to a reader who complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to improve the quality of the neighbourhood:
Ha! She slices, dices and chops with wit and wisdom for the masses. And if that doesn't work - SWIIIISSSSSHHH! Her magic wand makes it all better again.
When I was a teen, living alone with my dad and visiting houses to buy, one of them was (obviously) owned by a gay couple. My dad refused to buy the place "because of what they do in the bathtub could have contaminated it" I never laughed so loud at my poor dad... He was so insulted. Gotta love old people.
Keep on keeping on there Alfie (oh and come and visit my dog pictures too when you have the time!)

I love giving bigots a world-wide forum. Kind of like putting them in the stocks in the public square.
Love me some Abby! Old girl could cut to the quick and never break a nail
Love the "old girld could cut to the quick and never break a nail" - great line Holly!
I never used to read her, at least not regularly, now want to know and read more!
I may name my future daughter Abby. I wouldn't... but we'll say it's a possibility.
I love it!
