National Delurker Day

Now that I am almost, sort of, kind of, a real official blogger, I am gonna do all the fancy jet set international swanky things that real official bloggers do.... uh, what the hell is that again?

Oh yeah.. here's a good one!

Are you new? A 'lurker' is someone who reads, and reads regularly, without signing up to follow, or subscribe, or leave comments. Don't get me wrong - am thrilled you are here. That being said, love your comments, and want them especially today!

Today is blogger's delurking day. For every comment you leave on this blog today and tomorrow (Thursday and Friday), I will donate $1 to relief in Haiti. Great cause, so spend my money big time and show alfredliveshere some luuuv!

Not really a lurker but this is a brilliant Idea. I may have to borrow it for my blog tommorow!

I'm not a lurker, but I'll leave a comment anyway. LOL. Keep up the great work on your blog. I've really enjoyed it!

I, too, do not lurk, though I have been known to lurk in the past, but I am not lurking today.....or yesterday.....or tomorrow.
Great idea, though! That donation thingy!

I'm a partial lurker, but today I am leaving a comment since it's for such a good cause!

I've got loads of lurkers too, and until today, I didn't know there was a name for them. Even though I don't strictly 'lurk' will you still donate a dollar to Haiti?

Cough up the bucks, Brahm.

Good idea . . . .

If I lurk tomorrow will you give a dollar today?

For some reason I'm feeling an awful lot like Wimpy today.

Great idea! Alas, I am already a follower.

neither am i a lurker...
but anything to make you spend your $$$ for a good cause.
me,
i sent some money hours after the earthquake to the red cross's haitian relief fund. their situation vexes me. after all of the political turmoils they've been through for decades and the inherent poverty in that country, now this, a earthquake. i find it an insult to human dignity. i feel for them...

Hi... I'm skipped the lurker part altogether and just became a stalker on my first visit here. Kudos to you for a great idea.

Thanks dudes and dudettes, love the comments and keep them coming, send more people over, and would love to see more blogs do this (well done Clare, I was your first comment)!

loved the way you pronounce your brain. Great writting style.

Thanks all! In total comments (yours, mine, ours) that is 38 comments, so today I am donating $38 to Doctors Without Borders' Haiti relief fund, which will then be matched by the Canadian government as part of the $50 million dollar trust they just set up. Which takes us to (aaargh, math) a total $76 donation.

I encourage those of you who can to do the same.

And thanks again to all for reading the blog and showing Alfredo the luuuuv!

That is some cool idea. That too for a good cause.
As for those who come and read but stay silent, at least they do come, don't they? :D

am I too late? Just got around to reading some blogs today and saw this one about "delurking" yourself. Seems a bit harsh I suppose...there are many blogs I love to read but don't necessarily comment because A) I have nothing interesting to say or B) no time with reading tons of blogs every day (usually just before I have to run to work).

Anyway, great idea for the Haiti relief donation idea and I hope my comment counts towards the total :)

Brahm said...

Hello Lena and Crystal -

Thanks for reading, and for the comments, and yes will absolutely include your comments in the total for donation to Doctors Without Borders, is a great cause I am proud to support.

Ok, too late for the Haiti donation (I'll make up for it somehow), but I will come out and de-lurk...you've got a regular (just quiet) reader here!
