Juliet's secretaries and other things I learned this week...

1- The romantic flick Letters to Juliet is inspired by the real-life Juliet club, a group of women in Verona who respond to letters to romantic heroine Juliet, offering advice and support or just a friendly ear to women who need to talk about love. Think of them as Juliet's elves.

2- Sun Chips have discontinued their compostable and therefore very eco friendly bag. Clients complained it was very loud (trust me, it was), and sales were down 11%. Really, because the bag is loud?

3- In a pinch, pumpkin pie is a perfectly acceptable dinner.

4-I like listening to the same CD over and over and over for days. Currently it is Trisha Yearwood's Inside Out. This annoys the living crap out of some people.

5- Among the bestsellers on Amazon's Kindle list: Guns Will Keep Us Together and Assholes Finish First.

6- The house is creepy quiet when the dogs leave for vacation the day before we do.

7- Rosanne Cash is not only an amazing singer and songwriter, she is simply an amazing writer. Exhibit A is her new autobiography, Composed.

8- People who emphatically insist I'm not homophobic, I'm not homophobic, well, they pretty much are...

I'm guilty of #4 as well. Currently, the CD of choice is Scissor Sisters' Night Work.

I think pumpkin pie is always a suitable dinner, even if it's not a pinch.

I kind of like the Juliet idea even though Romeo and Juliet is not a personal favourite. I probably wouldn't be good at the letter writing either. I'd be too tempted to start each letter with: DO NOT FAKE YOUR DEATH. RESULTS NOT DESIREABLE. Yeah... really not a personal favourite.

Funny thing, I bought a bag of loud Sun Chips tonight.

Y'know what else is a perfectly acceptable dinner? Turtle cheesecake.

I'm guilty of No.4 too, but sometimes it's just 1 song for days (or even weeks) on end. Very annoying to the hubbit lol but I don't care. He loves me so he has to accept my quirks & foibles! *wink*

Pumpkin pie is perfect for breakfast too. AND it's healthy, right? I mean, it has a vegetable in it!

I liked Letters to Juliet way more than I expected to. Is formula, but is formula well done. Great actors.

And yes pumpkin pie is good for breakfast. Not as good as cold leftover pizza though!

I didn't know that about Letter To Juliet. Now I kinda want to see the movie. And yes, pumpkin pie can serve quite nicely as any meal of the day -- and appetizers and dessert, too. ;)

I love the things that will outrage the world and the things that won't.
Case and point? Sunchips packaging.

@ Jayne - yes do rent Letters to Juliet, is worth seeing, better than I expected.

@ Mads - I know, isn't it crazy that this caused their sales to fall? Sure the bag was loud, so unless you are eating them in a movie theatre, what is the big deal? Is a green step forward.

Pumpkin pie? The only value there is that pumpkin pie makes a great vehicle for the whipped cream.
