Uh... what the hell was I doing in university?

I spent a lot of time in university, both at McGill and Concordia, got degrees from both, made some friends, learned some stuff, met people different than those in the suburb I grew up in, came out of the closet, maybe smoked a little pot, whatever... I sure as hell didn't have the worldview or balls to really try to change the world.

So I was impressed as hell with an email I got this week, from someone I don't know (yet!), and who is a reader of this blog so we know she is a smart one!

Naomi Davis, who is attending NYU, is doing a film as her thesis, called DADT, a narrative of a gay American solider dealing with life during and after the Iraq war.

Learn more through the link below, and if you can toss a couple of dollars her way, please do. I did (it is easy through an Amazon link). We need new young bold voices out there tackling important issues through their art:

Way to go Naomi!

Uh, again, what the hell did I accomplish in university?

I was just so excited that Judge Phillips did not back down and refused to grant a stay of her injunction to the Department of Justice, thus giving Obama the big FU!

And, by the way, I voted for Hillary.

Hi Jayne - totally agree, was thrilled that Judge Phillips stood ground. As they say, she will be on the right side of history. As much as I was an Obama fan, he has not impressed me so far.

And my husband is a HUGE fan of Hillary, and cheering her on all the way!

That whole Don't Ask Don't Tell thing confuses me as much as a corn dog. It's so unnatural. So unnecessary. So unhealthy.

Let people love who they want.

...And keep those corn dogs far away from me.

Go Naomi! DADT is just... odd and nonsensical. Too many words to describe it, none of them positive.

Well put Lauren - go Naomi go!

HUGE Hilary fan! Glad to see Bill back on the campaign trail, hopefully setting Hilary up to be the next President of the USA. Hilary! Hilary! Hilary!
